Fall Fashion Trends

Fashion clothes

This season’s fashion trends are near and dear to our hearts. Seems the way we dressed in the 1980s is back in style. Acid-washed denim, ruffles, shoulder pads, bomber jackets and high-waisted “mom” jeans are back on the runways.

Luckily for us, many of the “go-big” or “go-home” 80s styles have been toned down in 2018. Shoulder pads are thinner, ruffling on blouses and dresses is more subtle, and bomber jackets are dressier in lighter-weight fabrics than the military style version from last century.

In addition, animal prints, cowboy inspired clothing, tweeds, plaids, multi-printed patterns and patent leather are also popular this season.Women fashion

However, the biggest trend for the approaching cooler weather is the oversized overcoat. If you want to buy one thing that will work well with most of the clothing in your closet, consider this option. Layering is big this season, and having extra room to allow for two, three and even four layers is a must. Doubling outerwear is not only practical on colder days, but fashionable. So go ahead, wear a cardigan under a blazer and put on that new oversized coat. Or pull out a denim jacket and wear it over a hoodie then don a long coat before you head out. Lastly, wear a puffy vest over a prairie style blouse under a slouchy overcoat. Add an oversized scarf for another layer and dimension.

Now is the perfect time to dig deep in your closets for that favorite 80s coat you just couldn’t throw away or pick out other items that will work well with the fashions this Fall/Winter. And always remember…when you look good, you feel good!
